Adaptive hybrid IT Infrastructure

Companies evolve. IT infrastructure must keep pace.

Digitalization and the use of AI change existing processes and place new demands on IT. More and more cloud-based IT solutions are being used alongside existing on-premises applications and must be integrated into operations. Hybrid, adaptive IT infrastructure accommodates change without requiring extensive technical modifications for every project. We analyze existing IT infrastructure and support its further development, from architecture and design through technical implementation to specialized managed services.

KEY CHALLENGES

IT infrastructure needs to be seen in its entirety.

Established structures require new and sustainable target architectures.

IT infrastructure evolves over decades. New systems and technologies come in, while existing systems cannot readily be replaced for technical or economic reasons. Therefore, the existing environment should be analyzed and improved regularly to create an adaptive, hybrid IT infrastructure. Measures should include optimizing and technically hardening existing systems, as well as securely connecting IT and OT.

New requirements meet existing IT.

New projects rarely start from a blank slate. They must integrate with existing systems, data, interfaces and established processes. Adaptive IT infrastructure creates the necessary technical conditions so that new initiatives can be incorporated into existing IT environments as easily and cost-effectively as possible.

Heterogeneous IT environments must function as a whole.

Modern IT infrastructure consists of many different components. Cloud-based solutions and on-premises systems or identity technologies and system integrations must work well together. Increasingly, IT infrastructure design also includes deeper integration with OT. We want to integrate all components into a hybrid IT infrastructure that remains secure, financially viable, and manageable.
HOW WE SUPPORT YOU

From IT architecture to technical implementation

We assess existing IT infrastructure in connection with business process requirements, applications, and corporate strategy. Based on this information we develop a sustainable target architecture. Elements that should be retained are preserved and necessary changes prioritized. We implement the results, ensuring that new initiatives can be delivered as easily as possible and without unnecessary additional effort.

IT infrastructure strategy and architecture

We develop a sustainable technical target architecture based on existing IT infrastructure and application environment, considering systems and dependencies to related processes and teams. Together with executive management and IT, we determine what should be retained, adapted, or replaced and how changes can be implemented effectively. This creates a concrete implementation roadmap, which we subsequently put into practice.

Optimization and modernization of existing IT

Existing systems do not need to be replaced just because new technologies are available. But even without changes to the application environment, IT architecture needs to consistently evolve. We assess how long systems should continue to operate, taking into account whether vendor support and updates remain available, and help define when replacement is necessary. We reduce complexity, optimize and harden existing systems, and modernize where it makes technical and/or economic sense.

Hybrid IT Infrastructure

Most companies today operate cloud services and local systems in parallel. In addition, the deeper integration of OT requires new connections and system integrations. We develop and implement hybrid IT infrastructure to ensure that existing and new systems reliably work together.

IT migration with minimal disruption

Migrations must take place while the business continues to operate. We plan technical transitions with a focus on existing dependencies to minimize disruption to ongoing operations. We manage the entire process, from planning through technical implementation, no matter if it is individual systems or complex ERP environments.

IT infrastructure security and resilience

Even well-designed IT infrastructure must withstand outages. For us, cybersecurity is an integral part of all technical architecture. We analyze which processes and systems are particularly critical to operations and protect them accordingly. In less critical areas, we define the level of cybersecurity appropriate to the client’s risk appetite and design and implement corresponding backup and recovery solutions.

Operations and managed services

Not every IT task needs to be performed in-house. Where internal resources or specialized expertise are unavailable, we assume operations and support for selected solutions. We operate those systems reliably, keep them technically up to date, and further develop IT infrastructure aspects as requirements change.
